Is a 2000 Mitsubishi eclipse a reliable car?

Sunday, October 10th, 2010

Answer

I have a 2003 eclipse gt (same car practically but much quicker), and imho the engine is very reliable. I have never had a problem with it. Unfortunately 90% of the dashes crack, especially if you use armor-all (it dries it out bad). The front end bottoms out a lot, the center dash speaker goes out a lot, the insurance is expensive ( they classify it as a sports car), and the turning radius blows. The 4-cylinder doesn’t have much power but it can handle quite a bit of boost (its basically a stroked 4g63), and has decent aftermarket support.

On a good note, I think they are potentially beautiful cars, and there is a lot of information available on them at club3g.com if you ever have any questions regarding it.

Why I can’t burn files on my DVD-ROM.?

Sunday, October 10th, 2010

Details

Ok so I had a lap-top before and now I have a real computer with a screen and everything. On my lap-top, I could burn any files on my DVD-ROM. Now, when I put blank DVD-ROMs in my computer, it can’t find it and when I try to burn files on it, it says: Please insert a CD. (As if I didn’t put one already.) I iinstalled Nero but it doesn’t work anyway. Could someone tell me what to do and why it worked on my lap-top but not on my computer?

Answer

Hello, I think you went a wrong way, burn dvd, first you must have a dvd burner drive(hardware) on your computer, most dvd burner drives have a text “DVD RW” on drive panel, you should check your computer to validate there is a right dvd burner drive on your computer, if it’s right dvd burner drive, but still failed, maybe it’s broken, you can use another dvd burner drive to try again, or maybe there is a compatibility problem between your dvd burner drive and nero, you can use RZ Free DVD Burner to test your dvd burner drive, it’s free, it can burn any files or folders onto dvd disc, it provide two burn engine to improve compatibility, you can press “Option” button on software main interface to change Burner Engine, You can yahoo or google search and download RZ Free DVD Burner, easy to use, hope it can help you.

Is a BMW with 150xxx miles on bad?

Sunday, October 10th, 2010

Answer

Overall, the cars are very reliable and do last a long time. Well beyond 150K. Some of the cars do have some problems as they get up in miles. The V8 cars in that mileage range sometimes develop some oil seal leaks that can be be costly to repair. If you do look at one, just look it over good. Look for signs of oil leaking around the engine. Also look along the top of the radiator and expansion tank for some greenish buildup that may be a sign of a coolant leak. If it is otherwise clean, take it for a drive and see how it handles and shifts. If it was taken care of or if parts were replaced to fix it, it should handle nicely, not shake, and the shifting should be relatively smooth. As with any used car, you can’t expect it to be perfect, and can’t expect it to never need repair. If you’re looking at an older model, repairs can generally be cheaper.

If you’re looking for a good used one, i would recommend a 4 or 6 cylinder. A 3 series is a really good bet, and there are tons of them out there still on the road.

What is the best way to tell if you are having an oil leak or if its just oil burning up ?

Answer

I would give the engine a good cleaning with engine friendly degreaser to start with. This stuff is available at your local auto parts dealer, should be around 5 bucks a can. This gives you a clean canvas( no pun intended ) to see were you have a leak if you do indead have one. Then I would get a large piece of cardboard and place under engine when parked. If you find any oil on the card board you have a major oil problem. If you are checking the oil daily and not having to top it off then all is well–if not try this. At your local parts house they can sell you a dye that you add to your oil and it will glow a nice nifty bright color under a black light– witch will help pinpoint were you are losing oil out of the motor. Just remember to check the oil level daily. Its a lot cheaper to add oil rather than a new motor!!!
